Archived Processing Tomato Variety Trials
Processing Tomato variety trials are an evaluation of varieties for local adaptation and continues to be a part of the University of California farm advisor program. Our objective is to identify dependable, higher yielding and higher quality variety releases that can be grown over a wide geographic area under varying environmental conditions. The varities are compared side-by-side in an experimentally sound designed test within local counties. Tests are conducted in a unifrom fashion to compare local results with tests by UC farm advisors in other locations.
There are no immediate plans to conduct new processing tomato variety trials after 2013.
